Rohde & Schwarz to showcase innovative EMC test equipment at EMV 2013 in Stuttgart

Rohde & Schwarz will be presenting a comprehensive range of EMC test equipment at the EMV 2013 international trade fair in Stuttgart, Germany (hall C2, booth 328). The new R&S ESRP has been created as a follow-up model to the extremely fast R&S ESR EMI test receiver to provide precompliance testing. Rohde & Schwarz will also be presenting its first automated test system for the new ETSI EN 300 328 V1.8.1 standard. The company's portfolio of broadband amplifiers has been expanded as well.

After the successful debut of the R&S ESR EMI test receiver in mid-2012, Rohde & Schwarz now presents the new R&S ESRP, the fastest precompliance test receiver in its price/performance class. Thanks to its time domain scan feature, the R&S ESRP performs diagnostic and precompliance measurements up to 7 GHz at a speed up to 200 times higher than conventional EMI test receivers (e.g. in CISPR band B with quasi-peak). A wide range of diagnostic tools such as spectrum analysis with or without a preselection filter, spectrogram display, IF analysis, and EMI test receiver mode with standard-compliant bandwidths and detectors support developers as they go about their work. The R&S ESRP can be operated using its neatly organized touch-screen interface, saving users valuable time while they perform EMI measurements during development and pre-certification testing on modules, printed boards, equipment and systems in line with CISPR/FCC.

The R&S TS8997 test system from Rohde & Schwarz is the company's first test solution for compliance testing in line with the new ETSI EN 300 328 V1.8.1 standard for wireless devices in the 2.4 GHz band. Starting December 31, 2014, the standard will be mandatory for all devices that use this frequency band and are sold in the European Union. This includes WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and radio remote controls. Unlike the previous version of the standard (V1.7.1), version V1.8.1 requires a special power measurement that has not been commercially available until now. The measurement is performed time-synchronized on four channels, supporting devices with MIMO and beamforming capability. Test sequences are run fully automatically, and analysis is implemented in the test system. Most notably, equipment manufacturers and test houses can now test new products for compliance with the standard during the development and certification process.

Rohde & Schwarz has also expanded its portfolio for EMC users in the area of broadband amplifiers by adding the new R&S BBA150. The new amplifier for the microwave range covers the frequency range from 0.8 GHz to 3.0 GHz and is available in various power classes between 30 W and 200 W. The amplifiers of the R&S BBA150 family are particularly compact and lightweight. The 200 W model, for example, takes up only four height units. In combination with the well-established R&S BBA100, Rohde & Schwarz is now able to offer amplifier solutions ranging from 9 kHz to 3.0 GHz for EMS testing in line with several EMC standards.  For more information please visit, http://www.rohde-schwarz.com .
