Mercury Receives $2.4 Million Radar Subsystems Order for Missile Defense Application

Mercury Systems has received a $2.4 million order from a leading defense prime contractor to provide radar subsystems and related digital processing technologies for a missile defense application. The order was booked in the Company’s fiscal 2018 third quarter.

The radar signal processing subsystem is based on an open systems architecture using heterogeneous processors, the Linux operating system, and the Message Passing Interface (MPI) API. The subsystem performs the entire signal processing functions including beamforming, pulse compression, Doppler processing, and target detection.

Mercury's Ensemble portfolio of rugged embedded radar signal processing building blocks feature highly interoperable Intel Xeon general compute processors, massively-parallel GPUs and low-latency FPGA resources that can be configured and scaled to meet the most complex radar signal processing applications. The radar signal processing subsystems are designed and made in America, using devices from secure supply chains to ensure system integrity and are ideally suited to modern radars including AESAs.

Mercury has long been an innovator in open system architectures and has pioneered many of today's widely adopted MOSAs including OpenVPX, AdvancedTCA and OpenRFM. Its advanced Air Flow-By and Liquid Flow-By cooling technologies emphasize extremely low-SWaP and the densest radar signal processing resources for reliable deployment at the tactical edge, whether the edge is on the ground, at sea, or at high altitude. Click here to learn more.
