CTS Introduces an Ultra-Low Power Shock Resistant OCXO In a Miniaturized DIL-8 Package

CTS Electronic Components, Incorporated announces development of Model 148, oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO), which uses the unique SC cut crystal technology to significantly reduce power consumption (0.23W at +25ºC) and allows for additional board space with its miniature-sized package. The ideal applications for this oscillator include airborne and ground mobile, wireless communications, broadband access, test and measurement, WLAN/WiMax/WiFi, and portable equipment and applications.

Model 148 is an ultra low power shock resistant miniature OCXO. It has very low power consumption of less than 0.23W. Its strong mechanical construction enables durability of up to 500G of mechanical shock. The device’s SC cut crystal is housed inside a TO-8 vacuum package and is DIL-8 compatible, thus, radically reducing its weight, power consumption, and warm-up time (60 seconds). In addition, the part is highly stable (up to 10 ppb over 0 ºC to +70 ºC) while maintaining exceptional performance with phase noise as low as -166dBc/Hz floor at 10MHz. It offers frequencies from 8MHz to 100MHz. The Model 148 is suitable for portable and battery fed wireless applications, mobile test equipment, beacons and rescue systems, and equipment that is subjected to high shock and vibration conditions.
