Defense electronics manufacturer, dB Control has introduced a high-power, wideband, rack-mount traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) that operates from 7.5 to 18 GHz. The amplifier provides up to 4 kW peak output power.
The new dB-3911 TWTA provides high saturated output power by using two wideband, periodic permanent magnet (PPM)-focused TWTs to amplify CW, AM, FM or pulse-modulated signals. Any losses from power combining are minimized by phase matching the TWTs and other RF components over the entire frequency range. The dB-3911 was developed for demanding military applications such as test/measurement, antenna pattern and radar cross-section measurements, electronic countermeasures and electronic warfare simulation.
