M/A-COM Technology Solutions has developed a new high power 8 W amplifier for C-Band radar and communication applications that operates between 5.2 and 5.9 GHz. The MAAP-011027 is a fully matched, small size and simplified packaged solution for high power pulsed applications. The device is a two stage, 8 W saturated C-band power amplifier with 37% power added efficiency that can be used as a power amplifier stage or as a driver stage in high power pulsed applications. The device is packaged in a lead free 5mm x 5mm 20 lead PQFN.
“The MAAP-011027 belongs to a new family of high power GaAs MMIC amplifiers that cover L-, S-, C- and X-Band”, said Paul Beasly , Product Manager. “These new products offer best-in-class performance for high power applications while leveraging MACOM’s commercial manufacturing expertise to reduce the size, weight and cost of our customers’ system designs.”
