Wireless and communications systems developer, Comba Telecom, will be working with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) to deliver turnkey tunnel solutions for the underground in Bangkok once again. The end-to-end solutions of Comba Telecom will provide 4G LTE networks for the MRT Chaloem Ratchamongkhon Line (“Blue Line”) extension, covering the 5.5km underground route and stations from the Hua Lamphong Station to the Itsarapap Station.
Underground metro is one of the main rapid transit systems in Bangkok. The system carries a huge number of commuters every day. The BEM Blue Line metro will serve over 270,000 passengers after the completion of the extension project in 2019. To meet the expected mobile communications demand, Comba Telecom will incorporate Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology in the solutions to build robust 4G LTE wireless networks with high throughput. Further to equipment supply, the company will also deliver a turnkey solution encompassing site surveys, network design, installation, signal testing & optimization and project management.
Comba has a comprehensive wireless product portfolio and is also experienced in tunnel and railway solutions. In addition to providing the wireless system for the initial Blue Line, and its Tao Poon-Bang Sue extension, it is their third time supporting the wireless network deployment for the MRT Blue Line.
