Advantech Wireless Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Baylin Technologies, has received a $1.7 million dollar order from a large North American carrier for its Summit Series of SSPA’s. This is expected to be the first of several purchase orders for this carrier to fulfill its 2019 requirements related to providing 5G backhaul services.
Advantech’s recently launched fully modular line of Solid State Pulsed Amplifiers (SSPA’s) is available in power levels of 10kW+, in both GaN and GaAs configurations, in Ku, X and C bands and provides soft-fail (switchless) redundancy. This line of pulsed amplifiers is designed to be a direct replacement of Klystrons, or travelling wave tubes, and their high power, wide bandwidth ruggedized systems will allow operation with multiple carriers and provide outstanding linearity.
According to Randy Dewey, President and CEO of Baylin Technologies, prior to purchasing Advantech Wireless just over one year ago, one of the intercompany synergies Baylin expected to realize was extending its existing Galtronics’ carrier relationships to Advantech’s customer base. This order now shows the manifestation of this expectation as their affiliates optimize opportunities in their specific business units.
