At IMS 2019 in Boston this week, Qorvo unveiled a MMIC power amplifier that delivers more than 10 watts of saturated power over the 32 to 38 GHz band. The advanced reliability and efficiency of the product enables customers to achieve performance objectives in critical defense applications while reducing costs.
Built on Qorvo’s ultra-reliable gallium nitride on silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) technology, the 10-watt TGA2222 provides 16 dB of large-signal gain, 25 dB of small-signal gain, and a power-added efficiency greater than 22%. It delivers this extended RF power in a smaller form factor (die), which reduces size, weight, and the number of components to create a simple but powerful solution for radar and electronic warfare applications.
