Rakon France has announced a new mini ultra-low noise Oven Controlled Saw Osicllators (OCSO) which are an improved version of their B1 Models. The LNO500B2 delivers a frequency of 500 MHz with an exceptional Phase Noise performance of -180 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, broadband jitter of <4 fs (offset from 10 kHz to 40 MHz) and stability of ±1 ppm. The LNO1000B2 delivers a frequency of 1000 MHz with an exceptional Phase Noise performance of -130 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, broadband jitter of <5 fs (offset from 10 kHz to 40 MHz) and stability of ±1 ppm.
Their size has been scaled down by about 50% from 76 x 76 x 23 mm (B2 Models) to 48 x 60 x 13 mm (B1 Models). The new package includes connectors and mounting pads and also provides an optional x2 internal multiplier, allowing an output frequency up to 1GHz. This new design has achieved significant energy savings and has directly reduced power consumption and cost. Its maximum warm up power is now only 2.5W (reduced by over 70%), and the maximum calm air power is only 1.2W (reduced by over 66%).
The mini OCSO is a good choice for applications that require ultra-low noise floor at high frequencies such as Phase Noise measurement, analyzers, synthesizers, radar simulators, or microwave ADC/DAC applications and is specially designed for a lab environment.
