PCTEL has expanded its Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) portfolio with the addition of industrial access points, sensor communication and radio modules to its market-leading line of purpose-built antennas.
Industrial IoT Access Point: An 802.11ac Wave 2 access point designed to ensure high throughput over a wide temperature range and deliver reliable connectivity for industrial and outdoor applications. This small, lightweight device supports dual 2x2 MIMO radios, one operating in the 2.4 GHz band and the other in the 5 GHz band. A development kit will be made available to allow OEMs to create custom software for their applications.
Industrial IoT Radio Module: A rugged, low-power consumption 802.11ac WiFi radio module which can be installed in a wide variety of products that accept standard mini-PCIe cards to support industrial applications.
In addition, PCTEL provides custom sensor communication modules to wirelessly monitor and relay critical information over long distances in harsh environments such as in utilities, energy, and process automation.
Unlike traditional enterprise IT system deployments, new automation technologies require specialized wireless devices that run application-specific software. PCTEL’s expanded capabilities enable them to effectively integrate sensors, edge computing capabilities, antennas, and transceivers into ruggedized solutions for the industrial IoT market.
PCTEL showcased its portfolio of rugged wireless Industrial IoT products at the IoT Tech Expo North America on 13/14 November 2019, at the Santa Clara Convention Center, California.
