MixComm Raises $8.6 Million in Funding to Accelerate mm-Wave Solutions Development

millimeter wave (mm-Wave) and 5G technology expert, MixComm, has secured $8.6 Million in Series B funding led by existing investor, Kairos Ventures. These funds will be used to accelerate staffing and the introduction of its millimeter wave products.

While 5G technology has great potential, it is challenged by the robustness of millimeter wave signals, the cost of deployment and power required. MixComm addresses these challenges with millimeter wave solutions offering industry leading output power and energy efficiency. Based in Chatham, NJ, MixComm is a fabless semiconductor company developing transformative solutions for emerging wireless applications and markets. It was co-founded in 2017 by Dr. Harish Krishnaswamy of Columbia University’s Engineering School and Frank Lane, formerly Senior Director at Flarion Technologies and Vice-President of Technology for Qualcomm.

The company’s technology is based on breakthroughs from Dr. Krishnaswamy’s CoSMIC lab at Columbia University and is funded by Kairos Ventures. The founding team has a proven track record in RF Integrated Circuit research and development and in commercializing cutting-edge RF silicon at both startup and large semiconductor companies.

This new financing round reinforces the MixComm‘s belief that it will play a leading role in 5G by addressing the challenges standing in the way of its profitable deployment and adoption.
