The RVC-1000 from Microwave Vision Group is a Modular Reverberation Chamber that operates from 18 to 40 GHz (lowest usable frequency – 1000 MHz). This test chamber is particularly suited for immunity testing for EMC measurements. It also supports MIL STD 461 and DO160-compliant high intensity radiated fields (HIRF) testing with field strengths exceeding 4000 V/m when paired with appropriate test systems. This chamber offers a relatively higher field-to-input ratio compared to anechoic chambers, thereby ensuring robust EMC testing at a lower cost. This reverberation chamber consists of mode tuners, mode stirrers, and paddles. It also includes a controller, test bench, antennas and fixing mounts as options.
The RVC-1000’s stirrer/tuner system is a large proprietary-designed metallic plate that is rotated during testing to maximize the standing wave pattern within the test volume. Upon rotating, the E-field is statistically evaluated and the worst-case data is used for the final evaluation of the test result. This test chamber’s stirrers/tuners are compatible with most commercially available software, and can be controlled using a standard office PC or laptop. This chamber provides a shielding effectiveness of 100 dB (at 18 GHz). It is ideal for EMC compliance testing (emissions and immunity) applications.
