The R&S®ATS1500C from Rohde & Schwarz is a Compact Antenna Test Chamber for the development, validation, and calibration of automotive radars. It supports in-band OTA measurements of 77/79 GHz radar sensors with apertures up to 30 cm. The chamber consists of a gold-plated parabolic reflector and a two-axis high-accuracy positioner for 3D movements of the DUT. It has been carefully designed to eliminate ghost targets within the chamber during target simulation tests. This test chamber has a 1.3 m2 footprint and employs best-in-class pyramidal absorbers to provide shielding effectiveness of more than 90 dB. It allows measurements in far-field conditions even for premium MIMO sensors.

When combined with the R&S®AREG800A and other state-of-the-art Rohde & Schwarz test and measuring instruments, this test chamber can be used for a variety of applications, including antenna characterization, radar validation, interference testing, ETSI RED and FCC in-band pre-compliance testing, and angular calibration.

The R&S®ATS1500C has a straightforward web GUI to control the 3D positioner. It can also be controlled via Ethernet using simple SCPI-like command. The system is available in a mobile enclosure that measures 0.90 x 1.99 x 1.61 m.
