The M4x.6631-x4 from Spectrum Instrumentation is a 4-Channel Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) that operates up to 400 MHz. This AWG is designed to deliver the highest performance with a sampling rate of 1.25 GSPS (on 2 channels) and a resolution of 16 bits. It consists of an FPGA, analog module interface, memory, comparators, trigger, clock, PLL, transmission lines, programmable reference, PCIe interface, and other passive components. This AWG includes PCIe cards that support either one, two, or four synchronous channels, which can carry different types of signal waveforms. The integrated PCIe x4 Gen 2 interface and optimized drivers offer an outstanding data streaming performance with data transfer rates in excess of 1.4 Gbps, enabling continuous replay of signals at a high output rate.
The M4x.6631-x4 allows signals to be replayed using different options such as single restart replay, repeated output, FIFO mode for continuous streaming, multiple replay, gated replay, and sequence mode. This AWG includes an external trigger input using which it can be triggered, and an external clock I/O to feed a sampling clock signal. It also supports a multi-tone DDS firmware option that adds a new output mode.
This 16-bit AWG provides an output voltage of ±80 mV to ±2 V (up to ±480 mV with high bandwidth option) with an amplitude step size of 1 mV and an accuracy of ±0.5 mV. The PCI Express card requires a DC supply of 3.3/12 V and consumes 40 W of power. This AWG is available in an enclosure that measures 160 x 100 mm and has SMA (female) and MMCX (female) connectors. It is ideal for research and development, stimulus-response tests, semiconductor tests, and telecommunications applications.
