The AWG5200 Series from Tektronix are Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWGs). They have a sample rate of up to 5 GS/s (10 GS/s with interpolation) and a vertical resolution of 16-bit that enables easy generation of complex signals as well as accurate playback of existing captured signals. These generators can be scaled up to 8 channels with multi-unit synchronization and meet demanding signal generation needs with high signal fidelity at an affordable price. The series is a complete solution for complex RF signal generation in a single box and is ideal for use in advanced research, electronic test and radar, and electronic warfare system design and test applications.
The Tektronix AWG5200 series features a digital complex modulator and multi-rate interpolation which removes the IQ mismatches that are attributed to external modulators and mixers. With its built-in interpolators, these AWGs also have the ability to efficiently create waveforms and reduce waveform size and compilation times as well as extend playback time. Tektronix has put together a specific waveform creation plugin for the AWG5200 series AWGs that enables engineers to create specific RF environments for many specific applications. Supported applications include simulating/emulating any real-world wireless scenarios/environments for EW monitoring, radar receivers with interference signals and phased array antennae, and MIMO.
These AWGs have built-in displays and buttons that allow quick selection, editing, play waveforms, and trigger events directly from the AWG front panel. They include the SourceXpress platform which brings all AWG instrument control and waveform generation capabilities to Microsoft® Windows PC. All waveform creation plug-ins run natively on the SourceXpress platform that allows you to quickly iterate through test signals without having to set foot in the lab.
They are available in enclosures that measure 153.6 x 460.5 x 603.0 mm. These AWGs are ideal for use in RF/MW waveform generation for communications and defense electronics testing and development (output RF signals directly up to 4 GHz) and leading-edge research in electronics, physics, and chemistry with high speed, low jitter signal source generates uniquely specified analog signals, fast pulses, data streams, and clocks. The generators require an AC supply from 100 to 240 V and consume less than 750 W of power.
