The VMA-Q24x8SE from Vaunix is a 24x8 Digital Matrix Attenuator that operates from 500 to 6000 MHz. This attenuator matrix consists of 192 bidirectional, solid-state, independently controlled attenuation paths that provide an attenuation range of 90 dB in 0.1 dB steps and have a switching speed of 2 µs. It has a non-blocking design and allows the user to direct multiple input signals to multiple output signals while controlling the signal power on all the paths. The attenuators in this matrix can handle an input power of up to 2 W (~33 dBm). It is ideal for use in MIMO, semiconductor test and qualification labs, automated test equipment (ATE), multi-point radio fading simulators, Wi-Fi 6, and LTE/5G/6G applications.
The VMA-Q24x8SE has an integrated Windows server and can be easily programmed for fixed attenuation, swept attenuation, and fading profiles using Vaunix’s highly developed Windows API DLL files and Linux platforms. It can be controlled through a single Ethernet port and has a USB port for interfacing a mouse or keyboard to a PC. This attenuator matrix is available as a 6-RU rackmount enclosure that measures 17.0 x 13.0 x 10.5 inches with SMA-female and N-type (female) connectors. It requires an AC supply of 110/220 V and consumes 75 W of power.
