The NCJ29D6 from NXP Semiconductors is an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Transceiver IC that is forward and backward-compatible with IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.15.4z standards. It has an integrated Arm® Cortex® core & CAN FD controller and a dual antenna interface for antenna diversity, maximum ratio combining, and angle-of-arrival estimation. This transceiver uses NXP radar sensitivity boost technology to implement a full-duplex UWB radar and has exceptional interference (i.e., Wi-Fi) resilience. It supports Digital Key functionality for secure truly hands-free car access and enhances this feature with radar capabilities. With combined ranging and radar support, this transceiver is designed for secure ranging and radar applications such as Child Presence Detection (CPD), Digital Key, intrusion alert, kick-sensing for easy trunk access, Living Object Detection (LOD), seatbelt reminder and smart car access in an automotive environment.
