The S9100A from Keysight is a 5G Multi-Band Vector Transceiver that operates from 380 MHz to 6 GHz (FR1) and 24.25 to 43.5 GHz (FR2). It is a streamlined, non-signaling measurement system that enables automated testing of 5G New Radio (5G-NR) infrastructure equipment at both the FR1 and millimeter wave FR2 frequencies. This vector transceiver is designed for OTA measurements and uses a remote head that can be physically placed at the antenna chamber to provide mmWave link budget. It includes an M1740A mmWave remote radio head with dual bi-directional ports that can be positioned close to the over-the-air (OTA) test chamber reference antenna. The remote head delivers higher RF-modulated power and EVM at the OTA chamber and supports in-head switching for 2 polarizations, saving both performance and cost.
The S9100A has a Tx/Rx bandwidth of 1.2 GHz with low EVM and ACLR for 5G NR and uses the M9410A VXT-II as the core SA/SG component that allows flexibility to use for FR1 and FR2 without high costs. It supports signal generation and analysis of 5G NR (3GPP Release 15 and higher) waveforms. This vector transceiver features "OTA-friendly" expandable architecture that avoids high losses from switching and long cable runs, supports multiple remote millimeter wave heads and polarizations, and multiple TX/RX channels. It leverages Keysight's proven PXI vector transceiver platform and is compatible with Keysight's Signal Studio Pro, VSA and Test Automation Platform.
The S9100A enables users to validate 5G RF radio performance in high-volume tests in 4G as well as 5G millimeter waves, 5G NR base station transceiver systems, 5G NR components, including remote radio heads (RRH), distributed units (DU) and active antenna arrays. It offers the precision required for in-band design validation in all the new 5G NR bands.
