The TRXBF01 from Sivers Semiconductors is a WiGig/802.11ad Beamforming Transceiver RFIC that operates from 57 to 71 GHz. This RFIC supports 16+16 channel beamforming with seamless modem integration through an integrated analog baseband.
The TRXBF01 has an integrated synthesizer, a RapidWave RWM6050/51 mmWave modem from IDT & CLOPTech’s WiGig modem CT6100. It includes an integrated beam book for instant beam steering/forming and has a Zero-IF interface with 1.2 GHz bandwidth to support all mmWave modems.
The IC can deliver a throughput of up to 7 Gbps, provides 25 dBm of linear output power, and has a noise figure of less than 7 dB. It has a superior link budget, flexible channelization, and excellent Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) performance which enables 64 QAM modulation and is future-proof with pre-802.11ay support. This RFIC is available in an eWLB package and is ideal for use in unlicensed 5G, 5G mmWave, FWA, backhaul, track to train, and V2X applications.
