The HL9447 from Hyperlabs is an Ultra-Broadband Bias Tee that blocks any existing DC signal and allows for the insertion of a DC bias current up to 175 mA into a circuit with minimal perturbation of the impedance of a 50 ohm transmission line. The bias tee has an insertion loss of less than 1.25 dB and return loss of 10 dB. The HL9447 provides an amplitude match of ± 0.1 dB, and a phase match of ± 4° at 40 GHz. It is available in matched pairs or individual units with a breakdown voltage of 11 V or 30 V and a variety of connector configurations.
The HL9447 can be used for biasing amplifiers, lasers, optical modulators, and other devices in applications such as optical communication systems, high-speed data systems, level shifting, cascading, and interfacing between devices with incompatible DC operating points.
