The SSPBM-X from Advantech Wireless is a Solid-State Block Upconverter (BUC) that converts input frequencies from 950 – 1450 MHz to output frequencies from 7.9 – 8.4 GHz. It delivers an output power of up to 250 W with a gain of 74 dB and has a gain adjustment range of 20 dB (in 0.1 dB steps). This BUC is based on GaN technology and provides high power density in a compact size. It has a phase noise of -83 dBc/Hz (@10 kHz offset), spurious emissions of better than -60 dBc, and harmonics of -40 dBc. The BUC requires a DC supply of 48 V or an AC supply of 90 – 265 V and consumes less than 1100 W of power. This BUC can be controlled via RS485 or Ethernet interfaces. It is available in a weatherproof enclosure that measures 406 x 200 x 140 mm with N-type (female) connectors.
