The BM88701 from TRM Microwave is an 8x8 Butler Matrix that operates in the L Band. It has integrated phasing networks and is capable of handling a broad range of antenna patterns. The multi-layer architecture of this butler matrix coupled with both microstrip, and coaxial technologies provides extremely low loss and high-power handling capability. It can handle an input power of up to 400 W, provides an isolation of more than 18 dB, and has an insertion loss of less than 1 dB. The butler matrix has an amplitude balance of ±1 dB and a phase balance of ±3°. It is available in a module with an operating temperature range from -55° to +85° C. The butler matrix has a chemical conversion coating per MIL-C-5541 Class 3 (optional paint available on request).
