The SC228 from Fibocom is a Multi-mode 4G LTE Cat 4 Module. It supports global 4G LTE bands, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 BR/EDR/BLE and global GNSS positioning systems including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS. This module is based on a Qualcomm SM6225 chipset, an octa-core (quad-core 2.4 GHz A73 and quad-core 1.9 GHz A53) processor that supports AI algorithms, an Adreno 610 graphics engine, 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64 GB UFS memory and integrated low-power island (LPI) DSP for sensors and audio. It uses a 6 nm manufacturing process and supports optimized power consumption. This module delivers a downlink data rate of up to 150 Mbps (LTE-FDD) and an uplink data rate of up to 75 Mbps (LTE-FDD).
The SC228 supports the simultaneous working of three cameras with 1080p60 8-bit HEVC/H.264/H.265 video encoding and 1080p60 8-bit HEVC/H.264/H.265/VP9 video decoding. It requires a DC supply from 3.5 to 4.2 V. This module can be controlled via UART, I2C, USB 2.0/3.1, SDIO, GPIO, 4-lane MIPI_DS and 4-lane MIPI_CSI interfaces. It is available in a 148 LCC+128 LGA package that measures 41.0 x 41.0 x 2.8 mm and is ideal for smart POS, industrial handsets, wearable cameras, PoC terminals, in-vehicle and smart home applications.
