The GDM7243SL from GCT Semiconductor is a Multi-mode 4G LTE Chipset that supports 450 MHz and NTN bands. This 3GPP Rel-14-based chipset consists of an RF transceiver and modem and allows switching between NTN and NB-IoT, CatM, Cat1bis, Cat1, and/or Cat4. It is also compatible with the CBRS spectrum and covers 478 to 698 MHz (TVWS bands).
The chipset supports 2x2 MIMO in downlink and 64-QAM modulation scheme in uplink. The chipset has VoLTE capability and supports eDRX/PSM for improved power management. With dual Rx and low-band dual Tx, this chipset utilizes UL diversity and higher power to maintain connectivity even in challenging conditions.
The GDM7243SL has an open RISC-V core available for user applications, with operating systems including Linux, OpenWRT, PRPL and Zephr. It features a sensor hub with an internal 32-bit controller for interfacing with IoT sensors. This chipset utilizes GCT’s new dual-core solution with integrated RAM and optional Flash, allowing customers to create fully integrated devices without requiring an external processor. It supports secure boot with an integrated hardware engine and a 4K OTP ROM. This chipset is optimized for device deployments in private, mission-critical infrastructure, and public utility networks around the globe, enabling true global coverage over land, sea, and air.
