The GR851x Series from GOODIX are NB-IoT System-on-Chips (SoC) that are based on an ARM Cortex-M4F CPU core with an integrated RF transceiver covering both low band (LB) and high band (HB) applications. These SoCs support 3GPP Rel-14 features like multi-carrier support enhancement (NPRACH, Paging), Cat-NB2 and two HARQ processes, CP re-establishment, AS and NAS release assistance indication, Rel-14 positioning (OTDOA and E-CID), DL channel quality reporting etc. They also support 3GPP Rel-15 features like NB-IoT wake-up signal (NWUS), dedicated PRACH SR, SR in HARQ ACK, RRC connection release without RLC AM poll, relaxed monitoring for cell reselection, power headroom reporting enhancement, etc.
The GR851x Series SoCs require a DC supply of 1.85-4.35 V and consume 35 µA/MHz of power. They can be controlled via UART, I2S, I2C, ISO7816, SPi, QSPI, and GPIO interfaces. These SoCs also have a complete security computing engine and a comprehensive security operation mechanism. They are available in BGA121L packages that measure 5.60 x 5.60 x 0.88 mm or QFN58L packages that measure 6.00 x 6.00 x 0.35 mm. The SoCs are ideal for use in a wide range of IoT application scenarios including smart meters, smoke detectors, asset management, smart wristband, smart streetlamp, bike sharing, scooter sharing, smart parking, pet tracking, livestock management, etc.
