The RM255C-GL from Quectel is a 5G RedCap Module that has been designed for the global market and covers nearly all the mainstream carriers worldwide. It is based on the 3GPP Release 17 RedCap technology which supports 5G SA modes and offers backward compatibility with the existing 4G LTE network. This module supports 5G URLLC and L1+L5 precise and power-optimized positioning to greatly simplify product design and provide more dependable positioning capability. It requires a DC supply from 3.135 to 4.4 V and supports power-saving features.
The RM255C-GL is compatible with Quectel’s LTE-A Cat 6 modules from the EM06 series, Cat 12 modules EM12-G/EM120K-GL/EM121R-GL/EM120R-GL, Cat16 module EM160R-GL, and 5G modules RM500Q/RM502Q series, which facilitates customer’s ease of migration. It integrates a rich set of internet protocols, industry-standard interfaces, and abundant functionalities (PCIe 2.0/USB 2.0/Linux), allowing the module to serve a wide range of applications. This module delivers a data rate of up to 220 Mbps (DL) and 100 Mbps (UL) in the 5G mode and up to 150 Mbps (DL) and 50 Mbps (UL) in the LTE mode. It is available in a land grid array (LGA) package that measures 29.0 x 32.0 x 2.7 mm and is ideal for industrial automation, smart cities, smart energy, mid-speed mobile broadband devices, and wearable applications.
