The SG520B Series from Quectel are Multi-Mode Sub-6 GHz Smart Modules for 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth applications. They have been designed for both industrial and commercial applications requiring high data rates and multimedia functions. These modules meet the 3GPP Release 16 specification and support 5G SA and NSA modes with 2G, 3G, and 4G fallback for worldwide coverage. They are based on Qualcomm’s QCM4490 64-bit octa-core processors, ensuring seamless connectivity and support multiple wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E and DBS, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Wi-Fi 2 x 2 multi-user MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2.
The SG520B series of smart modules offer support for MIMO technology, allowing the use of multiple antennas at the receiver at the same time and on the same frequency band to minimize errors and optimize the data speed. They also combine their high-speed wireless connectivity with embedded multi-constellation and high-sensitivity GNSS (GPS / GLONASS / BDS / Galileo / NavIC / QZSS / SBAS) receivers for applications that require fast and accurate fixes in any environment. These modules also integrate 1080P H.265/H.264 video encoding and decoding functionalities for real-time analysis. They can be remotely controlled using various interfaces such as LCM, camera, touch panel, UART, USB, I2C, and I2S, over a wide variety of Android OS versions (13, 14, 15, and 16).
The SG520B Series modules deliver a data rate of 900 Mbps (uplink) and 2.5 Gbps (downlink). They are available in land grid array (LGA) packages that measure 42.5 x 56.5 x 2.95 mm and are ideal for smart gateway, CPE, Mi-Fi, MID, PND, POS, routers, multimedia terminals, smartphones, digital signage, industrial PDAs, and other M2M applications.
