The Taurus from Sequans is a 5G-NR Chipset that operates from 600 to 7125 MHz. It is compliant with 3GPP Release-17 and supports both standalone and non-standalone 5G, along with carrier aggregation for worldwide deployment. This chipset delivers a 5G broadband speed of 2 Gbps and is designed for broadband IoT applications combining a highly optimized sub-6 GHz (FR1) modem with a powerful system-on-chip (SoC) with dual-core APU for smart edge applications and integrated routers. It has a dual-core application processor capable of supporting smart edge applications and integrated routing. This chipset has a rich selection of low and high-speed data interfaces, including native Ethernet, which allows for easy integration with various external hosts and devices.
The Taurus chipset supports LTE fallback for smooth migration from LTE to 5G and co-existence and radio interference mitigation techniques for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth companion modems. It is ideal for critical IoT (video surveillance cameras, drones, fire & rescue networks, financial devices), industrial and private networks (smart cities, airports, campuses, stadiums, warehouses), mobile broadband (portable hotspots, mobile computing, personal healthcare devices), Fixed Wireless Access (Wi-Fi routers, Indoor & outdoor CPE) and M2M (factory robots, connected machines, digital signage) applications.
