The HL7802 from Sierra Wireless is a Multi-Mode LPWA Module that has been designed for global LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GNSS networks. It can be connected to Cat-M1/NB1 networks, provides support for 2G fallback, and is fully compliant with the 3GPP Release 13 standard. This module offers a low-cost, best-in-class power technology for low-bandwidth IoT applications with extended reach beyond traditional cellular networks. It also provides worldwide coverage on a single module with industry and mobile network certifications, allowing users to get faster to the market.
The HL7802 includes an integrated GNSS receiver to enable tracking and location-based services in the GPS and GLONASS bands. It has an embedded stack to easily communicate with other devices over the internet by supporting a rich set of protocols such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, UDP, TLS, and DTLS. This module stores encrypted data in its secure element and remotely manages IoT deployments with the integrated AirVantage cloud services. It supports Linux OS with a standard ECM system and offers secure booting.
This cellular module offers free pre-certified firmware over-the-air (FOTA) to upgrade future-proof deployments while keeping them secure. It delivers a data rate of 300 kbps (Cat-M) and 27 kbps (Cat-NB1) in the downlink mode and delivers 375 kbps (Cat-M) and 65 kbps (Cat-NB1) in the uplink mode. The HL7802 is available in a land grid array (LGA) package that measures 15 x 18 x 2.4 mm and is ideal for asset tracking, industrial equipment monitoring, consumer wearable devices, smart city deployments, healthcare, and agriculture monitoring applications.
