The FE990B34/40 from Telit Cinterion is a Sub-6 GHz 5G/LTE-Advanced Module. It supports 5G sub-6 GHz technology with Gigabit LTE and WCDMA and includes a state-of-the-art multi-constellation GNSS receiver. This module leverages Qualcomm® Snapdragon® X72 5G Modem-RF System and is compliant with 3GPP 5G Release-17 5G deployments. It supports non-standalone (NSA) LTE/5G NR dual connectivity (EN-DC), full 5G NR standalone (SA) mode, Dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) between LTE and 5G and Network Slicing. This module is available in two regional variants (EMEA and North America) with 5G sub-6 GHz FDD and TDD bands.
The FE990B34/40 has a multi-constellation GNSS receiver (L1 band) with a dedicated antenna pad and internal GNSS LNA to allow less expensive passive antennas. It delivers a downlink data rate of up to 4.9 Gbps and an uplink data rate of up to 0.55 Gbps. This module supports 4x4 MIMO downlink (DL) support on all bands and intra-band/inter-band uplink (UL) CA supported on 4G networks for better throughput performance for uplink-centric applications (e.g., surveillance cameras and 4K/8K video streaming). It can be controlled via PCIe: Gen 4 (one lane) or Gen 3 (two lanes), USB 3.1 Gen 2, UART and Wi-Fi coexistence interfaces.
The FE990B34/40 includes four antenna ports for 5G sub-6 GHz/LTE and one antenna port for GNSS. It can support up to three Wi-Fi and two Ethernet transceivers. This module is available in a compact LGA package that measures 41.0 x 41.0 x 2.9 mm and is ideal for indoor and outdoor fixed wireless access (FWA), video streaming, surveillance devices and mobile & industrial routers & gateways applications.
