The SARA-S528NM10 from u-blox is an LTE-M/NB-IoT/IoT-NTN Satellite/GNSS Module that is designed to provide global connectivity via LTE-M, NB-IoT, and satellite networks with a single module. It also has the u-blox M10 GNSS chipset and complies with 3GPP Release 17 NTN standards. This module also supports cellular LTE Cat-M1 and LTE Cat NB2 technologies based on 3GPP Release 14/15/17 features that are relevant for IoT applications. It utilizes the M10 GNSS receiver to deliver excellent positioning data in concurrence with LTE networks, making it suitable for continuous or cyclic tracking applications. This module delivers a data rate of 588 kbps (DL) and 1200 kbps (UL) on the LTE Cat M1 half-duplex link.
The SARA-S528NM10 supports CellTime for robust and accurate timing reference for GNSS, AssistNow and CellLocate for location services, and jamming/antenna/SIM detection. It includes a rich set of protocols such as IPv4/IPv6, embedded TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and SIM provisioning for communication. This module can be controlled via UART, GPIO, and USB interfaces and allows users to upgrade their firmware via UART or uFOTA client/server solution (firmware over-the-air).
It requires a DC supply from 3 to 4.5 V and consumes 180 µA (eDRX mode) of current. This module is available in a land grid array (LGA) package that measures 16.0 x 26.0 x 2.4 mm.
