The P4700 Series from BERTEN are Airborne-Qualified IP Data Links that operate in the NATO Band IV from 4400 to 5000 MHz. They have been designed to provide a compact, robust, and affordable solution for tactical communications in electronic warfare (EW) environments. These transceivers implement unique frequency offset compensation algorithms that keep communication performance at hypersonic speeds of up to Mach 5 (more than 6000 km/h). They deliver a data rate of up to 100 Mbps and support QPSK, 16-QAM, DBPSK, and DQPSK modulation schemes. The transceivers utilize dynamic packet routing techniques to maintain links between nodes that are beyond the Line of Sight (LoS).
The P4700 IP data links incorporate Coded-OFDM (COFDM)/Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS)-based waveforms to mitigate multipath fading effects and provide Low Probability of Interception (LPI) and Detection (LPD) capabilities. They include Built-In Self Tests (BIST), over-current protection, reverse voltage protection, robust power supply with EMI filtering, and over-temperature monitoring functions to prevent over-load or short-circuit related damages. The transceivers support mesh, star, and mixed network topologies with a robust MANET which enables configurable nodes.
The data links allow multiple devices to be simultaneously connected to the Ethernet and serial interfaces to centralize data links for C2, telemetry, audio, and video in a single device. They provide transmission security capabilities with an AES-256 encryption scheme. These transceivers require a DC supply from +24 V to +30 V and consume 6.2 A of current. They are available in an IP67-rated Nickel-plated Aluminum enclosures that measure 180 x 142 x 80 mm with SMA connectors and are ideal for tactical ISR data links, command and control (C2), intra-flight data links, swarm and mesh networks, video streaming, and telemetry applications.
