The StarLite MR from Elbit Systems is a Digital Data Link that operates in the S-band and C-band. This advanced line-of-sight (LOS) digital wireless communication system is designed for medium-range manned and unmanned platforms in the air, sea, or on the ground. It has an operational range of up to 150 Km and supports full-duplex (uplink and downlink) using TDD (available in two frequency bands). The data link uses advanced networking features for simultaneous interfacing with dual IP sources to ensure continuous connectivity. It transmits digital SD or HD video and audio from the platform to the ground station, while continuously receiving IP sources and audio. This system includes additional unique features such as antenna diversity for reliable communication and excellent spatial coverage and advanced error correction technique CTC-FEC.
The StarLite MR delivers an output power of 36 dBm, has a controllable data rate of up to 8 Mbps, and a video latency of less than 160 ms. It ensures uninterrupted video streaming by simultaneously connecting with two video sources -Two SD, or SD and HD, using embedded H.264 video encoding-decoding that supports PAL/NTSC, HD-SDI. This data link supports AES-256-bit encryption and TRANSEC embedded frequency hopping capability (optional). It complies with leading international aviation regulations including flight safety standards DO-178 and DO-254 along with MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-461 testing to ensure environmental worthiness.
This digital data link has been designed for medium-range platforms including medium UAVs, USVs, UGVs, loitering munitions, mission helicopters, and other platforms.
