The SiT3901 from SiTime is a Digitally-Controlled Oscillator (DCXO) that operates from 1 to 26 MHz. This oscillator is ideal for use in fast wireless charging systems and other power-sensitive, space-constrained applications such as wearables, portable medical devices, earbuds and hearables.
This MEMS-based DCXO has an ultra-wide pull range up to 15% at a fine resolution. It consumes up to 90% less power and 90% less space compared to quartz oscillators. The DCXO provides an LVCMOS output waveform and has a frequency stability of ±50/±100 ppm. It enables the oscillator frequency of the TX to dynamically match the resonate frequency of the RX while eliminating many external passive components needed for traditional resonate matching.
The SiT3901 requires a DC voltage of from 1.8 to 3.3 V and draws 105 µA of current. It offers high resilience to analog noise and is available in a compact package that measures 1.5 x 0.8 mm. This DCXO offers high resilience to analog noise and the ability to dynamically vary its frequency to match the resonate frequency of the receiver, making it ideal for fast wireless charging systems and other power-sensitive, space-constrained applications.
