The EV12DD700 from Teledyne e2v Semiconductors is a 12-Bit Dual-Channel Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) with an output bandwidth of 25 GHz. It has a conversion rate of up to 12 GSps and embeds digital features like interpolation, Digital Up Conversion (DUC), and Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) to reduce the input data rate. This Ka-Band DAC has programmable output modes – Non-Return to Zero (NRZ), Radio Frequency (RF), Twice RF (2RF), and a programmable SINC compensation function. It has an adjustable gain and supports multi-device synchronization. The DAC also includes a digital up-converter (with four interpolation stages, plus sinc compensation).
The EV12DD700 requires a DC supply from 1.175-3.3 V and consumes less than 8.9 W of power. It is available in a rad-tolerant (qualification pending) Hi-TCE package that measures 20 x 20 mm and is ideal for use in radars & jammers, instrumentation, terrestrial & space telecommunications, beamforming, software-defined radio, and direct conversion applications up to Ka-band.
