The R&S ADD597 from Rohde & Schwarz is a Single-Channel Direction-finding (DF) Antenna that operates from 20 MHz to 7.5 GHz with horizontal polarization and up to 8.5 GHz with vertical polarization. This antenna offers dual-polarization capability and has multi-element antenna arrays with superior DF accuracy and immunity to reflections. It integrates active/passive switchable elements with variable electrical lengths for optimal adaptation to the receive frequency (20 MHz to 1.3 GHz).
The R&S ADD597 achieves a typical DF accuracy of 1º RMS and is equipped with an integrated lightning rod for protection against lightning strikes. It comes with an integrated electronic compass and can be equipped with a GNSS receiver for mobile applications. This single-channel antenna can be installed on vehicle roofs with the R&S AP502Z1 vehicle adapter or can be mast-mounted by means of an R&S ADD150A mast adapter. All VHF/UHF/SHF direction-finding and monitoring antenna elements are housed within a compact radome, measuring 43.3 x 23.2 inches. It is ideal for fixed/mobile/transportable spectrum monitoring stations and mobile and transportable platforms for detecting and geolocating tactical critical conventional communications.
