The QPB9351 from Qorvo is a Receiver Front End Module that operates from 1.7 to 2.7 GHz. It has integrated first-stage low noise amplifiers (LNA) and digital step attenuators (DSA) with a second-stage LNA in a dual-channel configuration. The LNAs utilize Qorvo’s high-performance E-pHEMT process and deliver a gain of 16.5 dB and a noise figure of 0.4 dB for the first stage . At the second stage they deliver a gain of 20 dB with a noise figure of 2.4 dB and the DSA, implementing gain control with a range of 31 dB in 1 dB steps. This RX VGA SiP (receive variable gain amplifier system in package) requires a DC supply of +5 V and can be controlled via an SPI control interface. It is available in a leadless SMT package that measures 5 x 5 mm and is ideal for high-performance macro base station receiver and 5G radio applications.
