The 1027-035 from Southwest Antennas is a high-performance and ruggedized Iridium and GPS Passive L1 antenna that operates from 1.565 to 1.585 GHz and 1.616 to 1.627 GHz. It has been designed to provide accurate timing and location services for Iridium or GPS receivers, manpack radios, hand-held tactical radio systems, and other small form factor radio systems. The antenna has a quadrifilar helical antenna design, excellent axial ratio, compact size, and lightweight design.
This right-hand circularly polarized (RHCP) antenna provides up to 2.3 dBic of gain and has a VSWR of less than 2:1. It has a quadrifilar helical antenna design with an axial ratio of 1 dB @ zenith (3 dB max @ -3dB beamwidth). The antenna has a horizontal beamwidth of 360°, and a vertical beamwidth of 120°. It supports Iridium transmission and reception for worldwide voice and data communication. For GPS applications, this antenna is receive-only and can only be used for position and timing services.
This IP67-rated ruggedized antenna is available in a ground plane independent enclosure that measures 0.7 (Dia.) x 2.13 (H) mm with TNC-male non-rotating connectors.
The small size and lightweight design of this high-performance antenna is also suitable for use in unmanned systems, autonomous vehicles, military and security, LBS & M2M applications, oil & gas industries, law enforcement, mobile computing, and other automated or remote assets where antenna size needs to be minimized.
