The HCS885EXF from Tallysman is a Smart Helical GNSS Antenna that operates in the L1 and L5 bands. It supports GPS/QZSS, BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS frequencies with support for WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS L1Sb, and GAGAN SBAS constellations. This antenna uses the u-blox F9 engine with up to 184 channels and implements Active Continuous Wave detection for anti-jamming. It has an integrated GNSS receiver/antenna with RTK corrections and PointPerfect PPP-RTK augmentation compatibility. This antenna provides sub-1-meter accuracy stand-alone, sub-1 cm accuracy with RTK corrections, and sub-10 cm accuracy with PPP-RTK corrections. The multi-band architecture of this antenna is effective in removing ionospheric error, and the L5 band provides superior interference and multipath performance compared to L2 band.
The HCS885EX has Tallysman eXtended Filter (XF) technology, which mitigates near-band and out-of-band interference, such as LTE signals and their harmonics, enabling operation in the most challenging deployments. It supports concurrent tracking of all four major constellations (GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS) in multiple frequency bands that improves the receiver’s convergence capability to deliver a quick, precise, and reliable position solution. This antenna has a tracking and navigation sensitivity of -167 dBm, reacquisition sensitivity of -160 dBm, hot start sensitivity of -157 dBm and a cold start sensitivity of -148 dBm. This antenna has a cold start time of 27 seconds, an aided start time of 4 seconds, and a reacquisition time of 3 seconds. It has a velocity accuracy of 0.05 m/s, dynamic heading accuracy of 0.3°, and timing accuracy of 30 ns (RMS).
The HCS885EX requires a DC supply of 5 V and can be controlled via CMOS or RS-232 interfaces. It is available in an IP67-rated housing that measures 38.75 (Dia.) x 41.1 (H) mm with NMEA 0183, UBX Binary, RTCM v3.3 and SPARTN v2.0 output interfaces. It is ideal for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications that require precise location and precise heading.
