The GT-100/GT-9001/GT-90 from Furuno Electric are Multi-GNSS Timing Receiver Modules that support the reception of GNSS signals in the L1/L5 bands. They deliver three outputs, including 1 pulse per second (PPS) synchronized with UTC and user-programmable frequencies. The modules can be set as required to 10 MHz, 2.048 MHz, 19.2 MHz, and 30.72 MHz, which are commonly used in wireless communication systems, enabling the receivers to shorten the time-to-market and contribute to strengthening the customer’s competitiveness. They offer the best-in-class time stability of less than 4.5 ns (1 Sigma) and are equipped with Dynamic Satellite Selection (DSS), a multipath-resistant algorithm developed by NTT that minimizes degradation of time performance even when the antenna is installed in urban areas or near a window.
The GNSS modules can be used with a selection of positioning satellites or all of them concurrently, making them ideal for globally deployed 5G mobile base stations and network equipment. They mitigate the effects of ionospheric delays caused by solar flares and others using the dual-frequency band positioning technique. These modules can also mitigate the effects of jamming signals automatically and provide real-time notification to the user of the jamming signal frequency and strength, which enhances the receiver’s security. They support short-term holdover, which maintains consistent performance even when the GNSS satellite signals are interrupted for a short period of time.
These receiver modules offer up to 62 channels for reception, have a sensitivity of -147 dBm (acquisition) and -165 dBm (tracking), and an accuracy of ±40 ns (open sky). They require a DC supply of 3.3 V and consume 55 mA of current. The modules are available in a Leadless Chip Carrier (LCC) package that measures 18.0 x 17.8 x 3.11 mm and is ideal for 5G RAN, radio systems, and time server applications.
