The RXM-GNSS-TM-T from Linx Technologies is a GNSS Receiver Module that operates at 1575.42 MHz. It is based on the MediaTek chipset and can simultaneously acquire and track multiple satellite constellations. These constellations include the United States GPS system, Europe’s GALILEO, Russia’s GLONASS, and Japan’s QZSS. The module has an internal Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) that provides exceptional sensitivity, even in dense foliage and urban canyons. It can provide a position accuracy of 2.5 m and hybrid ephemeris prediction can be used to achieve cold start times of less than 15 seconds. This module requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes 20 mA of current in tracking mode and 365 uA of current in standby mode. It has very low power consumption which helps in maximizing runtimes in battery-powered applications.
The RXM-GNSS-TM-T outputs standard NMEA data through a UART interface. It is available in a compact reflow-compatible SMD package and requires no programming or additional RF components (except an antenna) to form a complete GNSS solution. The module is suitable for use in positioning and navigation, location and tracking, security/loss prevention, surveying, fleet management, and logistics applications.
