The MC-1010-V3b from LOCOSYSTECH is a Dual-Band Multi-Constellation GNSS Module that supports GPS & QZSS (L1 C/A), GLONASS (L1OF), GALILEO (E1), BEIDOU (B1I) and IRNSS (NAVIC L5) bands. It supports concurrent reception of L1 and L5 band signals which mitigates the multipath delay and achieves sub-meter position accuracy.
The receiver has a hot start of 1s, a cold start of 28 s (without AGPS) and less than 15 s (with AGPS) in the open sky. It has a tracking sensitivity of -165 dBm and a cold start sensitivity of -148 dBm with an external LNA. The module requires a DC supply of 3.1-4.5 V and consumes less than 63.65 mA of current. It can be controlled via USB and UART interfaces.
The MC-1010-V3b has been developed on a 12 nm process and has an integrated power management architecture that allow it to have high sensitivity while consuming low power. It supports self-generated ephemeris prediction (called EASY) and server-generated ephemeris prediction (called EPO) hybrid ephemeris prediction to achieve a faster cold start. EASY eliminates the need for both network assistance and host CPU’s intervention. This has a validity of up to 3 days and updates automatically from time to time when the module is powered on and satellites are available. EPO is obtained from an internet server and has a validity of up to 14 days. The RF front end of this module is specifically designed to comply with the sensitivity specification contained in AIS 140 standard. It also supports SBAS like WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS and GAGAN.
The MC-1010-V3b is available in an SMD package with stamp holes that measures 10.1 x 9.7 x 2.2 mm and is ideal for personal positioning and navigation, automotive navigation, autonomous vehicles (ex: AVN/T-BOX/HUD), marine navigation, fleet management, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), hand-held devices and tracker applications.
