The Piksi Multi from Swift Navigation is a Multi-Frequency, Multi-Constellation GNSS Module with centimeter-level accuracy. It has a measurement rate of 10 Hz and can record velocities up to 515 m/s. This module utilizes real-time kinematic (RTK) technology, providing location solutions that are 100 times more accurate than traditional GPS. It uses multiple signal bands for faster system start times, as well as faster reacquisitions, which is critical to robotic systems. The module supports GPS L1/L2, GLONASS G1/G2, BeiDou B1/B2, Galileo E1/E5b for RTK measurements and positioning, and SBAS for robust sub-meter positioning in non-RTK mode. It requires a DC supply from 5 to 15 V and consumes 2.9 W of power.
The Piksi Multi GNSS module has integrated MEMS oscillator technology that enhances robustness under vibration and shock. It also includes a MEMS-based inertial measurement unit that allows customers to develop their own sensor fusion algorithm that enhances the positioning performance. This module has a horizontal position accuracy of 0.75 m (CEP 50 in SBAS Mode) and velocity accuracy of 0.03 m/s RMS with a time accuracy of 60 ns RMS. It has an RTK accuracy of 0.010 m (horizontal) & 0.015 m (vertical) and an RTK initialization time of less than 10 s. The module has a hot start of less than 5 s, a cold start of less than 60 s, and a reacquisition time of less than 2 s.
This GNSS module is available in a module that measures 71.0 x 48.0 x 12.4 mm and is ideal for swift navigation solutions and robotic system applications. It meets the MIL-STD 810G standards for vibration and mechanical shock. This module can be controlled via UART, CAN, Ethernet, and USB interfaces.
