The NEO-F9P from u-blox is a multiband GNSS Module for high-volume industrial applications. It supports concurrent reception of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou constellations and has integrated L1/L5 RTK technology for centimeter-level accuracy. This module ensures the security of positioning and navigation information by using secured interfaces and advanced jamming and spoofing and mitigation detection technologies. It supports a range of open correction services allowing each application to optimize performance according to the application’s individual needs. This module requires a DC supply from 2.7 to 3.6 V and consumes 72 mA of current.
The NEO-F9P includes a TCXO, a built-in RTC crystal and a flash memory. This module has anti-jamming measures that uses active CW detection and removal with onboard band pass filter and advanced anti-spoofing algorithms. It supports standard RTCM corrections and centimeter-level navigation from local base stations or from virtual reference stations (VRS) in a Network RTK setup. This GNSS module supports u-blox’s AssistNow A-GNSS and PointPerfect GNSS augmentation services. It has a cold start time of 27 s, aided start of 3 s and a reacquisition time of 4 s. This module has a tracking & navigation sensitivity of -167 dBm, cold start sensitivity of -148 dBm, hot start sensitivity of -157 dBm and reacquisition sensitivity of -160 dBm.
The NEO-F9P is can be controlled via UART, SPI, USB and DDC (I2C compliant) interfaces. It is designed for easy integration and low design-in costs with minimal eBOM and has a small package size, light weight, and small power consumption that is well-suited for mass market adoption. This module is available in 24-pin LCC package that measures 12.0 x 16.0 x 3.6 mm and is ideal for navigation and automation applications of moving industrial machinery.
