The 50PA-1205 from JFW Industries is a Programmable 8x1 Attenuator Assembly that operates from 30 to 6000 MHz. It consists of eight programmable attenuators (0-95dB x 1dB step) that connect to an 8-Way splitter/combiner. The eight attenuators can be remotely controlled via an Ethernet connection. The attenuator assembly provides an attenuation range of 0-95 dB in 1 dB steps with an accuracy of 4% (± 1.25 dB). It can handle an RF input power of up 27 dBm and has a maximum VSWR of 1.9:1 with a switching speed of less than 4 microseconds. It has an insertion path loss of up to 32 dB and an isolation path of up to 64 dB. The insertion loss paths are from the COM of the 8-Way to each of the eight attenuators. The isolation paths are from the attenuator port to the attenuator port. This system can be used to test up to 8 radios at one time with isolation between radios.
This attenuator requires an AC supply of 100-240 V and can be controlled remotely via Ethernet & RS-232 interfaces and manually via a display & keyboard. It is available in a 19-inch rack-mount enclosure with N/SMA Female connectors.
Handover test systems are used to assess the performance of interconnected wireless devices under real-world operating conditions in a lab environment. Device manufacturers and network engineers can use handover test systems and their various signal attenuation mechanisms to simulate the complex effects of variables like distance and interference. This helps to improve the robustness of their network and optimize the performance of their RF equipment.
