The ePMP Force 425 from Cambium Networks is a Point-to-Point Radio Backhaul Unit that operates from 4910 to 6135 MHz. It is based on the 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) wireless standard and delivers up to 1 Gbps of throughput. This Wi-Fi hotspot backhaul unit has Tx power from 3-28 dBm and latency of less than 5 ms. It supports 2x2 MIMO/OFDM techniques and consumes less than 28 W of power. This WISP backhaul solution is ideal for service providers who are looking to deliver high-capacity access services to enterprise and residential customers.
The ePMP Force 425 consists of an integrated 25 dBi dish and an optional 28 dBi range extender. The optional range extender can be assembled and attached in the field to provide additional link budget and fade margin. It can be used in challenging links by upgrading the capacity and hence higher modulations can be achieved. The backhaul unit has an integrated SFP port and an optional GPON ONU module to enhance channel capacity. It can be used at MicroPOP's and outdoor Wi-Fi access points that require high capacity at a moderate range without the overhead of using licensed microwave frequency bands.
This backhaul unit utilizes the 802.11ax standard and Cambium Networks proprietary ePTP mode to deliver high spectral efficiency. It supports 1024 QAM, 80 MHz channels, and has a highly efficient frame structure with a proven ePTP air interface. The backhaul unit offers enterprise-grade security with 128-bit AES over-the-air encryption, secure management interfaces, role-based authentication, and standard-based device authentication such as RADIUS support. It is available in a module that measures 470 x 285 mm with RJ-45, SFP, and 2 x RP-SMA connectors for interfacing large parabolic antennas and horn antennas.
