The PMP 450v from Cambium Networks is a 4x4 Fixed Wireless Access Point that operates from 5.150 to 7.125 GHz. It uses 2x2 MIMO OFDM modulation scheme, QPSK, M-QAM (M from 8 to 256), and offers a deployment range of up to 64 km over a channel bandwidth from 5 to 200 MHz (configurable in 2.5 MHz increments). This access point includes a built-in dual-linear-polarized antenna that provides a peak gain of 17 dBi, a front-to-back ratio of more than 30 dB, and a VSWR of 2:1. The antenna has a horizontal beamwidth of ±45°, a vertical beamwidth of 5°, and supports an electrical downtilt of 2°. It requires a DC supply from 48 to 59 V (supports PoE) and consumes 45 W of power.
The PMP 450v supports carrier aggregation to achieve flexibility in spectrum usage with two carriers on different bandwidths and can switch between the two bands depending on the network status. It leverages the existing platform and allows simple migration to the next-generation platforms in the future. This access point has been designed for business and residential locations while extending the life of deployed PMP 450 gears. It uses IPv4, IPv6, HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, FTP, SNMP (v2c and v3), and Cambium Networks’ cnMaestro protocols for network management, serving up to 238 subscribers per sector. This access point also offers GPS synchronization via an embedded GPS or Cambium Sync. It is available in an enclosure that measures 673 x 222 x 134 mm.
