The MP-10250 BeamX Series from Proxim are Multi-Point Radios that operate from 4.9 to 5.85 GHz. They use a beam steering antenna and a secondary, look-ahead scan radio to avoid interference and maximize the use of the available radio spectrum. These 2x2 MIMO radios are powered by Proxim Wireless Outdoor Router Protocol (WORP), which enables efficient wireless broadband access in a packet-based network. They are equipped with advanced QoS controls, committed interface rates, latency controls, IGMP snooping, and native multicast support, allowing granular service level management. These radios support 20, 40 and 80 MHz channels and deliver a data rate of up to 867 Mbps.
The MP-10250 BeamX Series utilizes BeamX™ antennas with a beamwidth of 17° that electronically steers itself to the remote client. The beam operates within a 60° sector, which improves the radio signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), enables higher modulations, and improves throughput. These antennas also speed up deployment by removing the antenna alignment phase. The radios include Proxim SmartScan which performs background analysis of the entire RF spectrum and creates channel availability tables to allow an immediate switch to a free channel in case of weather radar detection or interference. SmartScan makes the DFS channel more efficient by removing the initial transmission delay. It also opens access to the 5.600–5.650 GHz sub-band and enables effective use of up to 355 MHz of DFS spectrum.
These multipoint radios support OFDM with BPSK, QPSK, QAM16, QAM64, and QAM25 modulation schemes. They have Telnet, SSH, Web GUI, and other interface for remote operation. The MP-10250 BeamX series -WD Series radios require a DC supply from 36 to 57 V (has support for Power-over-Ethernet) and consume less than 40 W of power. They are available in IP67-rated enclosures that measure 371 x 371 x 85 mm and deliver reliable service in harsh environments, including high winds, salt, and extreme temperatures.
