The Stratum X5 from Proxim is a Point-to-Point/Point-to-Multipoint (PtP/PtMP) Radio that operates from 5.15 to 5.85 GHz. It supports channel sizes of 20 MHz, 40 MHz, and 80 MHz (80 +80 MHz, and 160 MHz via future upgrades), 2x2, and 4x4 MIMO and delivers a data rate of more than 1.5 Gbps. This radio utilizes a BPSK/1024-QAM and OFDM modulation scheme with maximum throughput and uses antenna diversity to improve radio stability in harsh environments. It integrates Proxim ClearConnect which combines multiple dynamic technologies to deliver the best interference management solution.
The Stratum X5 is provided with a 19° quad polarity panel antenna with software-selectable connectors to offer specific antenna patterns or gain adjustments. It includes Bluetooth-enabled mobile management applications such as TLS 1.3 web GUI, SSH 2.0 CLI, and SNMP v3 for ProximVision Advanced or other network management solutions. This radio supports a 128-bit AES encryption scheme (256-bit version via license upgrade) and authenticates via radius-based authentication using an internal MAC address control list (with VLAN and QoS provisioning). It simultaneously supports IPv4 and IPv6 for network management, VLAN via trunk and mixed mode, and QinQ double tagging.
The Stratum X5 delivers an output power of up to 26 dBm. It requires an 802.3at/bt-compliant power supply unit and consumes 14-17 W of power in 2x2 MIMO mode, and 22-25 W of power in 4x4 MIMO mode. This backhaul radio is available in a module that measures 388 x 346 x 428 mm with RP-SMA connectors.
