The RRK56578K5-790 from RFHIC is a Solid-State Transmitter System that operates from 5.6 to 5.7 GHz. It delivers a pulsed output power of 8.5 kW with a power gain of 79% (up to 10% duty cycle and pulse width from 1 to 100 µs). This system uses GaN transistors and is suitable for upgrading the existing VED (Vacuum Electronic Device, such as Klystron, Magnetron, Travelling Wave Tube, and Cross Field Amplifier) based transmitters for radar platforms. It has a pulse rise/fall time of less than 200 ns and spurious levels of -60 dBc. The transmitter system has an RS422 interface for control and communication and provides real-time status of the amplifier over Ethernet.
The RRK56578K5-790 is available in a 12U rack-mount enclosure that measures 740 x 823 x 1075 mm with an SMA-female input connector and WR159 output waveguide interface. It has an internal power supply unit and is suitable for use in radar, weather radar, and high-power RF applications.
